Alerting

Integrations

Connect Email, Webhook, Slack, Telegram, and Discord channels.

Integrations are your delivery channels. Add one or more channels, run a test delivery, then attach them to notification rules.

Recommended Flow

Add integration → run Test → attach to a rule → trigger a monitor event.

Email

  • Enter the destination email address.
  • Use one integration per mailbox for cleaner routing.
  • Run a test notification to confirm provider setup.

Webhook

  • Provide a full HTTPS endpoint URL.
  • Optional token can be sent in X-PulseBeacon-Token for endpoint authentication.
  • Your endpoint should return a 2xx response on success.

Payload Stability

Payload fields are designed for alert automation. Parse required keys defensively and ignore extra keys to stay compatible with future additions.

Slack

  1. Create an Incoming Webhook in Slack.
  2. Select the channel where alerts should appear.
  3. Paste the webhook URL into PulseBeacon.
  4. Save and run a test notification.

PulseBeacon sends rich Slack messages with title, status context, and quick links.

Telegram

  1. Open @BotFather and create a bot with /newbot.
  2. Copy the bot token.
  3. Send a message to the bot (or add it to your group and send a message).
  4. Use https://api.telegram.org/bot<TOKEN>/getUpdates and copy chat.id.
  5. Paste bot token and chat ID into PulseBeacon, then test.

Group Delivery

For group alerts, the bot must be in the group and must have seen at least one message before the group chat ID appears in getUpdates.

Discord

  1. Open the target Discord channel settings.
  2. Create a webhook in the Integrations section.
  3. Copy the webhook URL and paste it into PulseBeacon.
  4. Save and test delivery.

PulseBeacon sends Discord embeds with severity, resource details, and direct links.

Common Troubleshooting Checks

  • Confirm the integration is active.
  • Confirm your notification rule includes the event type you expect.
  • Confirm rule scope matches the monitor or server that triggered the event.
  • If tests fail, review the provider error shown in the UI and retry after fixing credentials.
